Feminism, which is the movement that fights to achieve the equality between men and women, has always existed. However, in the last years, the concept has become more popular and not only socially, but in different industries, like fashion. One of the first big brands to bet on feminism for their garments was Dior, with its motto “We all should be feminist”. After the French brand, many more has bet on feminism, even low cost brands, such as Inditex or Mango. Even so, the fashion isn’t the only industry that it’s in feminism, the music industry as well.

Throughout history, music has been an instrument to spread information. Some centuries ago, people couldn’t read or write and they didn’t have access to media, so thanks to the music, the information spread and thanks to the rhythm and rhyme the message was easier to remember. Nowadays, it’s the opposite. Music says a lot of things, but at the same time, it explains nothing. Gucci gang, despacito and la bicicleta. And there’s no problem if you're riding your bike and it comes to your mind the idea of writing a song, but right now almost every song are like this, and this is deteriorating the musical culture and consequently, society.

Fortunately, there are some women who have decided to raise their voices and change the situation with their music, with songs that empower women, that are a feminist anthem and apart from dancing them at parties, leave a mark and educate us. That’s why today we bring you a playlist with songs that have a feminist message which is very needed.

1. IF I WERE A BOY - BEYONCÉ
This hit by Queen B is one of the most popular songs. She explains what kind of attitudes she’d change regarding women if she was a man.

2. LO MALO - AITANA AND ANA GUERRA
This song was candidate to represent Spain in Eurovision Song Contest. It’s written by Brisa Fenoy and it’s already a feminism anthem in the country. It tries to empower women and it spreads a message positive and determined: bye bye to bad things and bad boys. The message is so necessary that we could see some verses at the different women marches, such as "I decide when, where and who".

3. FALL IN LINE - CHRISTINA AGUILERA AND DEMI LOVATO
Two of the greatest voices decided to join and write this song, that’s about women abuses. They confront the situation despite all the obstacles.

"It's just the way it is

Maybe it's never gonna change

But I got a mind to show my strength

And I got a right to speak my mind

And I'm gonna pay for this

They're gonna burn me at the stake

But I got a fire in my veins

I wasn't made to fall in line".

4. MUJER CONTRA MUJER - MECANO
This song from 2000 by the legendary Spanish band Mecano is about homosexual love. Two girls are in love, but the rest see it as a simple friendship. One of them thinks that it’s not correct, while the other one doesn’t care. It’s a classic Spanish song with a great message!

5. I WILL SURVIVE - GLORIA GAYNOR
It’s a song that became an anthem for the LGTBI community, but for women as well. This song empowers the feminist movement and it shouts from the hills that we have to love ourselves. It’s about a strong, independent and decided woman.

6. NI LA HORA - ANA GUERRA, JUAN MAGÁN
Ni la hora is the first project by Ana Guerra. It’s a song that has already became a summer hit and not only for the rhythm, but for the lyrics: “No one controls me".

7. GOD IS A WOMAN - ARIANA GRANDE
God is a woman is the latest project by Ariana Grande and apart from being a hit, it’s a song that breaks some taboos. Actually, the title stands out. It breaks down preconceptions of religion and she dares to say that God is a woman. Religion is one of the disciplines that throughout history, has contributed the most to perpetuate the alpha male role, while women were supposed to be subordinate. This song is very cool and necessary.

8. HAY ALGO EN MÍ - MÍRIAM RODRÍGUEZ
Miriam Rodriguez is known as the lion of Operación Triunfo and she demonstrated it on her first single, which is part of the Vis a Vis soundtrack. It is a song that rebels and raise the voice for all women: “I’m a woman, I belong no one”.

9. RUN THE WORLD - BEYONCÉ
Women can build a nation. Beyoncé is an icon for feminism and another of her most popular hits is Run The World, that apart from being a great song, it’s about strong, intelligent and multi-skilled women who are capable to manage the world.

10. SO WHAT - P!NK
P!nk is another celebrity who reclaims the most the equality between men and women. Don’t you remember when she appeared on the red carpet wearing a suit like his husband? The singer also uses her music to spread a message about overcoming and feminism. In her song So What her husband leaves her and she doesn’t care, she rebels and she does whatever she wants.

“So, so what?

I'm still a rock star

I got my rock moves

And I don't need you”

As you see, there are songs that talk about feminism, but they’re still necessary, especially because the list of sexist songs is quite long and we need to raise our voice and confront the situation.

El feminismo, que es el movimiento que lucha por conseguir la igualdad entre hombres y mujeres, ha existido siempre. No obstante, en los últimos años, el concepto se ha conocido y reconocido mucho más y no sólo socialmente, sino también en diferentes industrias, como la moda. Una de las primeras marcas reconocidas en apostar por el feminismo para sus prendas fue Dior, con su lema "We all should be feminist". Después de la marca francesa, han venido muchas más, incluso marcas low cost como Inditex o Mango. Sin embargo, no sólo la industria de la moda ha querido añadirse al movimiento feminista, también lo ha hecho la industria musical.

A lo largo de la historia, la música ha sido vista como un instrumento para hacer llegar al pueblo información. Hace algunos siglos, la gente era analfabeta y no tenía acceso a los medios de comunicación, por lo que gracias a la música la información circulaba y gracias al ritmo y a la rima, el mensaje era mucho más fácil de recordar. No como en la actualidad, que estamos en un punto en el que la música dice mucho, pero a la vez no cuenta nada. Scoobydopapa y el pum, pum, pum, pum, llévame en la bicicleta despacito y sin pijama. Que oye, ningún problema si vas en bicicleta y se te ocurre escribir una canción, pero que todas las canciones y éxitos actuales sean de este tipo, está empobreciendo la cultura musical y en consecuencia, la sociedad.

Por suerte, algunas mujeres han decidido alzar la voz y cambiar la situación con su música, con canciones que empoderan a las mujeres, que son un himno del feminismo y que más allá de bailarlas en discotecas o cantarlas en la ducha, nos dejan huella y nos educan, que es lo más importante. Por eso, hoy os traemos una recopilación de canciones que contienen un mensaje feminista muy necesario para la sociedad.

1. IF I WERE A BOY - BEYONCE
Este éxito de Queen B es una de las canciones más conocidas y sonadas. En ella relata qué actitudes respecto a la mujer cambiaría si ella fuese un hombre.

2. LO MALO - AITANA Y ANA GUERRA
Compuesta por Brisa Fenoy con la intención de abrirle las puertas al mundo en el festival de Eurovisión, se quedó a las puertas en el concurso de Operación Triunfo. La canción es un himno del feminismo que pretende empoderar a la mujer ante los chicos malos que hacen sufrir a la mujer y demostrar que no hace falta depender de ellos. Tanto ha sido el éxito de la canción, que en las diferentes manifestaciones feministas, se han recogido algunos versos de la canción como "Yo decido el cuándo, el dónde y con quién".

3. FALL IN LINE - CHRISTINA AGUILERA feat. DEMI LOVATO
Dos grandes voces de la música decidieron unirse y componer este tema, que expone las desventajas y los abusos que sufren las mujeres en el mundo. Ellas afrontan la situación a pesar de todas las trabas:

"Tengo la intención de mostrar mi fuerza

y tengo el derecho de decir lo que pienso

y voy a pagar por esto,

me van a quemar en la hoguera,

pero yo tengo fuego en mis venas,

y no estoy hecha para ser sometida".

4. MUJER CONTRA MUJER - MECANO

Esta canción del 2000, interpretada por el grupo Mecano, hace referencia al amor homosexual. Dos chicas que están enamoradas, pero que el resto ve como una simple amistad. Una de ellas piensa que su relación no es correcta, mientras que a la otra le da igual. Todo un clásico con un mensaje muy necesario: "Y lo que opinen los demás, está de más".

5. I WILL SURVIVE - GLORIA GAYNOR
Es un tema que ha servido tanto para himno para la comunidad LGTBI, como para formar parte del lema de alguna campaña publicitaria relacionada con el cáncer. La canción empodera el movimiento femenino gritando a los cuatro vientos que hay que quererse a una misma y no estar encadenada al corazón de nadie. Habla sobre una mujer fuerte, independiente y decidida.

6. NI LA HORA - ANA GUERRA, JUAN MAGÁN

Ni la hora es el primer trabajo de Ana Guerra después de salir de Operación Triunfo y, ¡no ha decepcionado para nada! Una canción que unos días después de su lanzamiento, ya es considerada un éxito del verano, ya no sólo por el ritmo, sino por su letra.

"Hola,

Mira que bien me va sola,

nadie a mí me controla,

y aunque me lo pidas

ya no te doy ni la hora".

7. GOD IS WOMAN - ARIANA GRANDE
God is a woman se trata del último trabajo de Ariana Grande y aparte de ser un exitazo es una canción que rompe varios tabúes. De hecho, el título por sí solo llama la atención. Rompe con lo establecido por la religión y se atreve a decir que Dios es una mujer. La religión es una de las disciplinas que a lo largo de la historia ha contribuido más a perpetuar el rol del macho alfa, mientras que la mujer quedaba subordinada a éste, por lo que la canción de Grande es toda una rebelión.

8. HAY ALGO EN MÍ - MÍRIAM RODRÍGUEZ
Miriam Rodriguez es conocida como la leona de Operación Triunfo y así lo hizo saber con su primer single, que formaba parte de la banda sonora de la serie Vis a Vis. Una canción que se rebela y alza la voz por todas las mujeres: "Soy mujer, no pertenezco a nadie".

9. RUN THE WORLD - BEYONCE

Las mujeres gobiernan la nación, el mundo. Beyoncé todo un icono del feminismo, también nos regala Run The World, que aparte de ser un temazo, habla de mujeres fuertes, inteligentes, polivalentes y capaces de gobernar el mundo.

"Somos suficiente inteligentes

para conseguir todos estos millones,

suficiente fuertes para desnudar a los niños

y después volver a los negocios.

Así que como ves, mejor no jugar conmigo"

10. SO WHAT - P!NK

Pink también es uno de las iconos musicales que más reivindica el feminismo. De hecho, ¿quién no recuerda cuando se presentó en la alfombra roja con smoking igual que su marido? Pues, la cantante también utiliza su música para transmitir un mensaje de superación y de feminismo. En su tema So What el marido la deja, ¿y sabes qué? Que no le importa, se vuelve rebelde y hace todo lo que quiere.

"¿Y qué?

Yo sigo siendo una estrella del rock

Tengo mis movimientos,

y no te necesito".

Como veis, hay canciones que tratan sobre feminismo, pero aún así siguen siendo necesarias, sobre todo porque la lista de canciones machistas es bastante larga y debemos alzar nuestra voz y enfrentar la situación.

We're in Summer and as always, we have many songs which fight to become 'The Summer hit'. This year this battle has been almost nonexistent, because there's a clear winner: Despacito. We listened to this song many times, Spanish version, Spanglish version... And now, it's even on our clothes! In-sa-ne, but this fact is a bit sad because Despacito is eclipsing other good songs too, so I thought it could be a good idea to share with you the other summer hits, apart from the king.

1. Mi gente

This J Balvin's song is becoming the new Despacito. Its agressive rhythm, its easy lyrics and the latin vibe are number 1 right now on Spotify. It is pretty catchy and you'll know soon all the lyrics!

2. Wild thoughts

Wawawa... Dj Khaled is triumphing this summer. Apart from I'm the one with Justin Bieber, he gave us this hit with the incomparable Rihanna. We don't know if it's the rhythm, the guitar, the beat or the 'wawawa', but we absolutely love this song.

3. More than you know

This summer's electronic vibe is by Axwell / \ Ingrosso. We love this kind of songs specially for this time of the year, because when we think about this kind of music, we also think about happyness and having fun. And this song is this and much more: catchy, fresh, danceable... Perfect for a long road trip and for party too.

4. Sorry not sorry

If Demi Lovato surprised us two summers ago with Cool for the summer and that electronic beat, we shouldn't be surprised this time. But she did it again. A summer hit that makes us move and sing. Baby I'm sorry, I'm not sorry, but if you listen to this song, you're gonna be singing it all day!

5. Felices los 4

Another latin song, and how not, Maluma. The colombian singer's song is one of the most listening this summer. This one's a bit more relaxing than Despacito and Mi gente, the beat is a bit slower, but it is as catchy as the others.

6. Attention

But if Felices los 4 is catchy, let's talk about Attention. The incomparable bass of this song is our best summer soundtrack. Road trips, party, beach, dance, sing... Charlie Puth is in our minds another summer, after being two summers ago with See you again and his amazing voice.

7. Senza pagare

This italian song, with no doubt, can be compared with the previous. Though we don't understand the lyrics at all, it has a good rhythm and it's catchy, actually it is sooo catchy. Come il crimine, senza regole... J-AX and Fedez are triumphing in Italy and not just there, they are also visiting Switzerland.

8. Sirenas

There are many spanish songs this summer, but I love something about spanish music is singing with a lot of people and this is one of those songs that everybody is singing. Though we only can sing the part "A casa de Herón, a casa de Herón" we can sing it. This song by Taburete will make your summer unforgettable. A curious fact about this song, or I should say about this band, is the singer is Bárcenas' son, a spanish corrupt politician (as many others). I don't know, I was surprised about this fact. Aren't you?

9. It's a lie

The Vamps surprised us with this song which is very different from their style, but it's been a pleasant surprise. This song is very new, but I bet on it. It has everything to be "The Summer Hit": amazing beat, catchy, tropical rhythm...

Las otras canciones del verano (aparte de Despacito)

Estamos en verano y como siempre, tenemos un montón de canciones que luchan para convertirse en "La canción del verano". Este año esta batalla ha sido casi inexistente, porque hay un claro ganador: Despacito. Hemos escuchado esta canción muchas veces, versión española, versión inglesa ... Y ahora, ¡está incluso en nuestra ropa! In-cre-í-ble, pero este hecho es un poco triste porque Despacito está eclipsando a otras canciones buenas, así que he pensado que podía ser una buena idea compartir con vosotros los otros éxitos de verano, aparte del rey.

1. Mi gente

Esta canción de J Balvin se está convirtiendo en el nuevo Despacito. Su ritmo agresivo, su letra fáciles y el aire latino son el número 1 en este momento en Spotify. ¡Es súper pegadiza y pronto te sabrás toda la letra!

2. Wild thoughts

Wawawa ... Dj Khaled está triunfando este verano. Aparte de I'm the one con Justin Bieber, nos ha regalado este éxito con la incomparable Rihanna. No sabemos si es el ritmo, la guitarra, el beat o el 'wawawa', pero tiene algo que nos encanta.

La música electrónica de este verano viene de mano de Axwell / \ Ingrosso. Nos encantan este tipo de canciones especialmente para esta época del año, porque cuando pensamos en este tipo de música, también pensamos en felicidad y diversión. Y esta canción es mucho más: pegadiza, fresca, bailable... Perfecta para un largo viaje por carretera, pero también para ir de fiesta.

4. Sorry not sorry

Si Demi nos sorprendió hace dos veranos con Cool for the Summer y ese ritmo electrónico, no debemos sorprendernos esta vez. Pero lo ha hecho de nuevo. Un summer hit que nos hace mover el esqueleto y cantar. Baby I'm sorry, I'm not sorry, pero si escuchas esta canción, ¡vas a estar cantándola todo el día!

5. Felices los 4

Otra canción latina, y cómo no, Maluma. La canción del cantante colombiano es una de las más escuchadas este verano. Es un poco más relajada que Despacito y Mi gente, el ritmo es un poco más lento, pero es tan pegadiza como las otras.

6. Attention

Pero por pegadiza, hablemos de Attention. El bajo incomparable de esta canción es nuestra mejor banda sonora de verano. Viajes, fiesta, playa, bailar, cantar... Charlie Puth está en nuestras mentes otro verano, después de haber estado dos veranos atrás con See you again y su increíble voz.

7. Senza pagare

Esta canción italiana, sin duda, se puede comparar con las anteriores. Aunque no entendamos la letra en absoluto, tiene muy buen ritmo y es pegadiza, en realidad es demasiado pegadiza. Come il crimine, senda regole... J-AX y Fedez están triunfando en Italia y no sólo allí, sino que también están visitando Suiza y otros países.

8. Sirenas

Hay muchas canciones españolas este verano, pero si algo me encanta de la música española es cantantarla con mucha gente y esta es una de esas canciones que todo el mundo se sabe. Aunque sólo podamos cantar la parte "En casa de Herón, podemos cantarla. Esta canción de Taburete hará que tu verano sea inolvidable. Un hecho curioso sobre la canción, o debería decir sobre Taburete, es que el cantante es el hijo de Bárcenas, un político corrupto español (como muchos otros). No sé, me sorprendió este hecho. ¿A vosotros no?

9. It's a lie

The Vamps nos ha sorprendido con esta canción que es muy diferente a su estilo, pero, sin duda, ha sido una grata sorpresa. Esta canción hace poco que se ha estrenado, pero apuesto por ella. Tiene todo para ser "La canción del verano": es pegadiza, movida, tropical...

I love music, I love traveling and Eurovision is the perfect mix of these hobbies. Many countries of Europe chose a song to compite with other countries. Apart from being a song contest, for eurofans it is an opportunity to meet new singers from other countries and a chance to meet the music culture of each country. As Eurofan, I always study all the candidatures and choosing was difficult, but I finally bring you my Top 10. These aren't my favorite songs literally, I kept in mind the rhythm of the song, the lyrics, the voice of the artists and the staging. Eurovision isn't all about the song, there are many factors that count, besides politics. Here are my stake.

10. Bulgaria

This year Bulgaria bets on a slow song and a simple performance. It is so good and the lyrics are beautiful, not a beautiful mess like it says. The singer has a great voice and a appearance.

9. France

France last year betted on J'ai cherché, an english-french song. The result was so good that this year they feature a similar song with Alma. It is too catchy! Alma has a beautiful voice, but the performance is pretty simple.

8. Cyprus

I remember some years ago, Cyprus betted on Ivi Adamou with La-La-Love for Eurovision Song Contest and it was one of my favs! This year, Cyprus has a good song: catchy, emotional and active. The voice of the artist isn't bad and the performance is amazing!

7. Italy

This is one of my favorite songs! Italy this year is energy, optimism, fun and originality. Occidentali's Karma is a very catchy song and though Francesco Gabbani voice quality isn't the best, it has a good texture. The performance is simple, but original and despite it's on 8th position on this Top 10, I hope it wins.

6. Croatia

The song of Croatia is very original. It reminds me to a Disney movie soundtrack and it's very sentimental, but this isn't the best of Croatia, but the singer: he's amazing, I would say the best singer of this year. If you listen to this song without watching the video, you'll think two different people are singing and actually it's just one! The staging is simple, but this song doesn't need anything else.

5. Portugal

Here is another song that reminds me to a movie soundtrack, specially to Cinderella. Portugal wasn't in the contest last year and this year doesn't disappoint. It's one of my favorite because of the song, it is one of the most beautiful, not to say the most. Salvador's voice isn't amazing but it has something that moves and gives you goosebumps from the first chord. The performance is very very very simple but it's perfect!

4. Australia

Last year Australia was one of my bets to win the contest and it was close to do it! This year has a good candidature with Isaiah and Don't come easy. The song is one of the best, keeping in mind rhythm and lyrics. The singer has a very good voice and has a good appearance. The staging is pretty simple and I would like it to be a bit cooler.

3. Israel

This is one of the most catching songs this year. Israel bets on Imri and his I feel alive to make Europe dance and jump. The lyrics, the voice and the performance are pretty good! Israel is, with no doubt, a possible winner!

2. United Kingdom

We almost arrive to the 1st position and it means that every time is more complicated to decide who will be the winner. I think United Kingdom this year has a very good candidature with Lucy and Never give up on you. The strength is simplicity. They have a beautiful song, an amazing singer and an incredible staging. All the ingredients to win the contest!

1. Denmark

This year Denmark is my fair winner. Slow but catchy song, an excellent voice and unbeatable staging. Anja has a incredible voice that fulls the whole stadium.

This is my top 10, but as I said at the beginning, I kept in mind many elements to decide, if I would have to choose just for the song, my winners would be Italy, Denmark or Israel and I would include on my top 10 Moldavia. Anyway the final is tonight and we'll see who wins. By the way, I created a Spotify Playlist with this top 10, if you want to get ready!

About the Spanish candidature I think is a very simple song, very monotonic and the lyrics are very repetitive. Anyway, I think Manel Navarro is a good singer and with another song he would have more chances to win! I have more fav songs but some of them, like Switzerland, was eliminated.

Anyway this night is about forgetting the differences among countries to enjoy something that joins us: music.

Hey guys! How are you? I'm a bit sad because of what happened last Sunday, I deleted all my pictures in Google + and suddenly all my blog pictures disappeared. More than 4,000 photos, moments, people. But I love doing this so, I'm gonna keep posting!

Today I bring you a very exciting new. Some weeks ago I told you that I decided to share with you my own songs, so this Saturday, October 1st at 10am (Spanish hour) I'll be sharing with you my new single, Paris (Our Love). It is a very special song for me and soon you'll know why. The music video is amazing and it was possible because of the mariemarryme team. Here I let you some pictures and I hope to see you there!! Yes, I have long hair, but it's because I filmed this two years ago. As I told you, I will explain you everything in a video!

¡Hola a todis! ¿Cómo estáis? Yo un poco triste después de lo que pasó el domingo pasado, borré todas mis fotos de Google+ y también se borraron de mi blog. Más de 4.000 fotos, momentos, personas... Pero me encanta esto, ¡así que voy a seguir!

Hoy os traigo una noticia súper emocionante. Hace unas semanas os dije que quería empezar a compartir con vosotros más canciones mías, así que este sábado, 1 de octubre a las 10 de la mañana, compartiré con vosotros mi nueva canción, Paris (Our Love). Es una canción súper especial para mí y pronto sabréis por qué. El videoclip es una pasada y todo ha sido posible gracias al equipo de mariemarryme. Aquí os dejo algunas fotos y, ¡espero veros allí!
